Split Horizon

Sometimes I’ll ride past the bay right at the edge of twilight, when the sky and water don’t quite match anymore. One side of the horizon is still holding onto the last bit of daylight, and the other has already tipped into night. That tension between brightness and shadow is what drove Split Horizon.

The line through the center divides more than color. The top bloom feels distant, pulled back into that deep blue-violet, while the lower one is more grounded, soft-lit in lavender. I let each shape drift out from its center but mirrored their form: a reflection, a conversation.

This piece is about thresholds. Between light and dark. Between one version of yourself and another. Not everything has to be decided yet - sometimes it’s enough to stand at the line and just look both ways.
