Edge of Light

I made Edge of Light after visiting the same overlook on the bay twice in one day—once just before sunset, and again later that night. In the evening, the sky over Green Bay was glowing, with streaks of cloud catching gold from the low sun. A few hours later, the same place was quiet and deep, the sky full of stars and shadows.

This piece is a memory of both. The top half flows in blues and whites, like the last light skimming the water. The bottom shifts into darker purples and golds, grounded, reflective, like the hillside after night falls. I let the center erupt in white and copper, where those two moments overlap.

Standing in the same place, hours apart, it felt like I’d stepped into two different worlds. This piece holds that contrast: day and night, energy and calm, motion and stillness.
